Yvonne Aglae Braconnier (Vasseur) Yvonne was born January 17, 1928 at Three Hills the eldest of five children to Arthur and Martha Vasseur. Grandma spent her child hood on the family farm east of Three Hills in the Ghost Pine Area. After the passing of her brother Art, Yvonne helped her dad with the farming. Grandmas fondest childhood memories were of Christmas concerts, going to dances with her sisters, playing baseball at the manor school and attending church at Lumni. In June of 1945 Grandma married Lawrence Braconnier and farmed southeast of Three Hills, over the years their mixed farm grew. They raised four children, Henry (Heather) and their children Collen, Robin and Amy. Dianne (Ralph) their children Ward (Amanda) Gemma, Ryan(Cheryl) Jesalyn and Taylor. Rita (Pete) Kayla and Ashley. Peter (Jennifer) Kyle and Alex. Grandma was a long time member of the Catholic Womans league, Ghost Pine Community Group, Three Hills Rural School Association and a 25 year 4-H leader for Three Hills Beef club . Grandma was a true farmer and worked hard making her own butter and selling cream and eggs for many years. During the Calgary bull sale Grandma would stay home to do the chores and calf out cows, while one of the kids would help Grandpa tend the Bulls. Grandma enjoyed her border collie dogs and also had many cats. There was always a big crew for meals which meant lots of cooking, baking and cleaning. She canned chicken and beef and grew a huge garden. She also planted lots of flowers every year and her fruit trees yielding many jars of crab apple jelly, fruit and delicious apple pies. The pie making tradition still carries on today right down to the great grand children. Grandpa passed away in 2006. Grandma developed Parkinson Disease in 2008 and shortly there after moved into the Three Hills Lodge for two years. Requiring more assistance she relocated to the Three Hills extended care in 2010 and remained there until her passing. Grandpa and Grandma are now together again. We love you and know your place in Heaven is secure, God bless you. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St Joseph Catholic Church, Three Hills, AB with interment in Three Hills Cemetery.
