William John Wohlgemuth passed away peacefully at Valleyview Health Centre in Valleyview, AB on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

William was born at home located at Sec 26-7-6E near Hanover, MB on July 15, 1931. He was the third oldest child of John and Helena Wohlgemuth.

William grew up in Manitoba and Ontario. From the age of 19 until his passing, he lived in Alberta, with the majority of those years spent at Crooked Creek.

William will be missed by his wife of 70 years, Matilda Wohlgemuth; adult children Violet (Howard) Penner, Marg Reimer (Rod Johnson), George (Carrie) Wohlgemuth, Dennis Wohlgemuth (Bren Knight), Myrna (Don) Giesbrecht, and Stella Price; brothers and sisters Alfred (Grace) Wohlgemuth, Herb (Verna) Wohlgemuth, Tena Toews, Lena Thiessen, Lill Thiessen and Elaine (Darwin) Kirk; sister-in-law Linda Wohlgemuth; 17 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren (who together with their spouses and families mourn the loss of Grandpa); numerous nieces and nephews; friends and acquaintances; and the residents and staff of the Ridgevalley Seniors Home.

William was predeceased by his parents John and Helena; brothers and sisters David, Maryana, Lawrence, Stella, Alen, and Wayne; his firstborn, Vivian, and daughter, Edith; 5 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law; and all of his wife Matilda's siblings and their spouses.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Rosedale Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Crooked Creek, AB at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow immediately after at Rosedale Cemetery, Crooked Creek, AB. Following the interment services, all are welcome to join the family for lunch in the Church fellowship hall.
