William Thomas (Tom) Clare was born to George and Alice Clare in 1944 in Paddockwood, Saskatchewan, although there is some dispute on whether he was actually born in 1943. He died on April 24, 2017 at the Westview Care Facility in Linden, AB at the age of 72 (or maybe 73). Tom married Anita Beverly Toews on May 16, 1969. They eloped in Shelby, Montana rather than bear the cost and trouble of a larger formal wedding. They would later renew their vows at a slightly more formal affair in Edmonton, AB They remained married for 47 years until Anitas passing in 2016, but in Toms heart his marriage didnt end with her passing. Tom was predeceased by his parents, George in 1988 and his mother Alice in 2001, as well as by two daughters, Juanita in 1970 and Beverly in 1984, and his beloved wife Anita, in 2016. Tom leaves behind: son Tom Jr. and his fiancé Kristina, son Bruce and wife Shellie, four grandchildren, Aiden, Isabel, William and Kian. His brother Wilfred, and his sisters Sybil, Dorothy, Fran and Pearl, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Three brothers-in-law, Doug, Danny, and Joe, their spouses and children. Tom was a dedicated family man whos main concern in life was ensuring his family had a roof over their heads and food on the table and he worked hard to do so. He was well known for his lighthearted teasing, strong work ethic, and lead foot. He spent his teen years racing around the countryside of Linden and Acme, AB in his 1954 Oldsmobile, and he only really slowed down after a motorcycle accident at the age of 65 paralyzed his left shoulder and most of his arm, He was not one to carry his emotions on his sleeve, but those that he loved knew it by his actions if not his words.
