Wayne Ellis Toews was born to Walter and Lydia Toews on February 6, 1964 in Three Hills, AB. On April 26, 2021, Jesus came to take him home. His sudden death was caused by a blood infection. Wayne was the youngest brother in a family of 11, growing up on a dairy farm in Linden. His love of horses began as a boy, riding his pony bareback, going for the cows. When he was 16, the family moved to Stettler, where he helped turn a hayfield into a productive farm which he still called home. Wayne gave his heart to God and was baptized into the Church of God when he was 16 by his Uncle Jake. The commitment he made at Preparatory Class was important to him. When there was Church, Wayne took his family. He loved singing and, lately especially, listening to singing. He prayed for his children and grandchildren by name every day. On February 28, 1988, Wayne married me, Sharon Froese. God gave us 33 full years together. We were blessed with 4 children and spent many happy family times, farming, camping, and travelling. I treasure the memories of places we went together. His interest in people and concern for their salvation led us across the waters to several missions. He always had time to put the coffee on if you came on the yard. You know who you are! The Dad we loved was always teasing and chuckling, his brown eyes sparkling. He loved filling the house with youth and meeting new people. It wasnt strange to hear him ask people What is your country?. He always told us to pray. God has a plan. He taught us how to farm the right way, all the way down to chaining the gate properly so the cows cant open it. He brought his Dolly, Kara Jayne, everywhere with him. We went on many town business trips together. Dad often told us boys that he wasnt farming for himself. I dont need all this. Im doing it to help you get started. His three little butcha grandchildren loved their papa and his special toys. He could always make them smile by making glasses with his hands. Were going to shine for you now…. Dad!
