Valery G. Senger, affectionately known as Val, passed away peacefully with his family around him, on May 30, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 14, 1952, in Empress, Alberta, Val's 70 years were filled with love, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community.

Val is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley Senger (nee van Ringen), and their three devoted children, Lindsay, Angela, and Mackenzie (Sydney)Senger. Papa to Colten, Harley, Brynn, and Madison, and 9 brothers and sisters and extended family. Val's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A lifelong farmer, Val was passionate about the land and the community he called home. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Val's dedication to agriculture was a constant source of inspiration to those who knew him, and his wisdom and guidance will be remembered by the many who sought his counsel.

In addition to his work on the farm, Val was an active member of the Irricana Lions Club. His commitment to service and bettering the lives of others has brought him joy.

Throughout his life, Val faced many challenges with courage and determination. His battle with cancer was no exception.

As we remember Val, let us celebrate his life and honor the values he held dear. May we strive to embody his loving spirit, his wisdom, and his courage, and may we continue to be inspired by the example he set for us all.
