Shirley was born July 13, 1949 in Calgary Alberta. She was the first child of Florence and Harvey Hodge. They lived in Calgary until 1953 when they moved to Estevan, SK. Shirley attended the Catholic Elementary and Junior High School in Estevan. She then went to work at the Estevan Mercury Newspaper. In 1968 while living in Regina she worked at the Plains Health Centre. In 1969 she moved to Edmonton where she worked as a manager at McKenzie Jewellery. In 1967 Shirley had a baby boy Shawn. Three months later Shirley married Garry, January 31st of this year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. In 1969 their second son Corey was born. Shirley was very active in the community of Beisiker, she loved to go for walks and visit her neighbours. Shirley was a gardener and took pride in the beautiful family wall she built on her front porch. She devoted many hours to being an amazing grandmother and raising her grandchildren Krystopher and Hannah. Shirley is predeceased by her father Harvey, grandparents Irene, Albert, Francis and John-Lucas Freeze. She is survived by her husband Garry, son's Shawn (Gwen), Corey, mother Florence, siblings Darrel (Val), Darren and Cara, grandchildren Jamie, Brandon, Alyssa, Krystopher and Hannah. Shirley was a remarkably fun-loving woman that touched many hearts. She leaves behind beautiful memories that each of us have to keep with us.
