It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Delroy (Del) Bates on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the age of 82. Del was born in the Acme, Alberta area on April 27, 1935. He was predeceased by his parens Art and Lavina Bates, brother Jim Bates and daughter Stacy Bates. Del attended Olds School of Agriculture and then became a successful farmer west of Acme for the next 50 years. He was very active in the Community – Masonic & Elks Lodges, Curling Rink, Golf Course, Swimming Pool and Hall Board. He is surviived by his partner of 20 years, (Sharon), son Greg, daughters Melody and Shelley. He adored his grandchildren Jeff, Tyler, Scott, Rebecca, Steven, Kurtis , Justin, Brittany, Carlee and Chad, his great grandchildren Kailyn, Jackson and Holly. A celebration of Dels life will be held in the Acme Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 27 at 2 pm. If friends desire, Memorial tributes may be made to the Heart & Stroke Fund.
