With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Charles Wood, born August 19, 1946, in Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 78.

Throughout his life, Richard worked as a long-haul truck driver, mechanic, farmer, welder, machinist, and held various other jobs. His work took him all over Canada and the USA. He loved the open road and fixing things.

Richard enjoyed camping, tinkering in the shop, hiking, exploring, backyard firepits, drag races, and travelling.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary; his brothers, Jim and Fred (half-brother); his sister, Betty; and his parents.

He is survived by his three children: Mary (Mike) Edmundson, Bonnie (Chris) Schewaga, and Susan Andrew; his grandchildren: Jesse Richardson, Sam Miller, Ethan Schewaga, Ashley Schewaga, Alyssa Schewaga, and Kadence Andrew; and several great-grandchildren.

No services will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's honour to the Red Deer Hospice Society .
