Our dear mother,grandmother and great-grandmother, Rhoda June Loewen Toews Regehr was born on June 7th 1925 to Abram and Sarah Loewen at Acme , Alberta. She peacefully passed away at the age of 91 years on September 26th 2016 at Central Peace Long Term Care, Spirit River Alberta. Mother spent her childhood years at Linden Alberta. As a youth, mother accepted the Lord into her heart, and was baptized, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Her faith in God and love for the Church meant much to her and she remained faithful until the end. On February 25th, 1948, mother was joined in marriage to Herman Toews at Linden Ab, sharing over 35 years together until Dad passed away in 1983 after a short battle with cancer. To this union were born four daughters and two sons. In 1966 they moved to Silver Valley, AB, where they had acquired a homestead. This was an interesting challenge to them. Mother was a positive and hospitable person. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She loved to sing and loved each new grandchild. In 1990, after 7 years as a widow, Mother accepted a proposal from Henry Regehr and they were married on October 20th of that year. Mother then moved back to Linden to share life with Henry. They spent lots of time traveling back and forth between Linden and Silver Valley. Henry passed away on January 18th 2004 after they had 13 good years together and Mother then moved back to Silver Valley. When she needed more care than her family could give her, she moved to the nursing home in Crooked Creek, also spending time in Grande Prairie and Fairview, before ending up in Spirit River, closer to her children, where she spent her final years. Those left to mourn her passing are four daughters and two sons: Donalda and Allan Isaac of Taylor,BC, Louey and Valerie Isaac of Silver Valley, AB, Judy and Roy Toews of Heart Valley AB, Debra and Merle Johnson of Creston BC, Neil Toews of Debolt AB, and Clark and Olive Toews of Berwyn AB; 24 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren, four in-laws, nieces and nephews. Special niece Evangeline Andreason, and a foster son, Rodney Chowace. Mother is also mourned by the Henry Regehr family; Geraldine and Robert Klassen of Enderby, BC, Verda and Ray Klassen of Linden AB, Arlene and Alvin Klassen of Swanson SK, Ruth and Roland Toews of Linden AB, Glen and Lois Regehr of Linden AB and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two husbands,her parents and all her brothers and sisters.
