Obituary

Paul Isaac Brown, 79, passed away on June 19, 2024, at Westview Care Community in Linden, Alberta.

Paul was born in Edmonton, Alberta, to Ike and Alta Brown on August 25, 1944. He grew up in Linden and upon leaving school, attended SAIT to obtain his Welding certification and later earned his B Pressure ticket from NAIT. He worked as a Welder for over 40 years, both for various companies and independently. His work on pipelines took him across Alberta and parts of British Columbia, and also the Arctic, where he contributed on drilling platforms and icebreakers. Paul cherished spending time in the great outdoors, particularly hiking, biking, and camping with his stepsons.

The most important part of Paul's life was his deep faith in God. After moving to Invermere with Myrna, he spent much of his time walking and biking the trails of Invermere and was actively involved in the local church. Early in his adult life, Paul knew he wanted to be baptized. He wasn't sure how this would ever come to pass as he knew he could never stand up in a church full of people and give his testimony as was the custom. However, God graciously arranged for him to be baptized out in nature - in a small river by a brother in Christ.

Paul is survived by his wife, Myrna; his daughter, Lori (Craig), and their daughter, Tegan; his stepsons: Darcy (Linda) and their daughter, Brenna; Darin (Melanie) and their children, Spencer (Reanne) and Jaime; Stacy (Joy) and their daughters, Brianna and Rebekah; and Scott (Anita) and their children, Hannah and Riley. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce (Dennis), and his brother, Jac (Dave).

Paul was preceded in death by his son, Shayne, his parents, and his brother, Albert.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Westview Care Community for their exceptional care of Paul during his time with them.

His adventurous spirit was matched only by his unwavering faith in God, which guided him through life's trials and tribulations. Let us honour his memory by living as he did - with courage, laughter and a heart open to adventures. He will be missed and never forgotten.
