Obituary

Olla Trentham was born to Sam and Olga Abramenko on her family's farm SE of Three Hills on August 5, 1921. She went to school at Mount Vernon rural school until her family moved to Calgary, where she attended the Balmoral School. She went on to study bookkeeping at Henderson college after which she returned to Three Hills to work at Norman Pennock's Service Station. It was at this time that she met and married Harry Trentham. They lived in the town of Three Hills while Olla gave birth to four children and then they moved to their farm northeast of Three Hills on Highway 21. It was here that Olla developed her green thumb and love of gardening. She became a long time member of the Three Hills Garden Club and enjoyed the outings to help judge the children's gardens and entries in the annual garden show. Even in her later years Olla liked to go for drives in the country to view the crops and gardens. After retiring from farming, Olla and Harry went on many trips to explore the world traveling as far as Australia, Indonesia and Thailand with many trips to Hawaii thrown in. Olla peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on May 1, 2016, at Westview Care Community. Harry, her husband of 52 years, passed away in 2002. Olla was also predeceased by three brothers (George, Fred, Ernie), one sister (Mary Thomas) and son-in-law Jim Radomske. She is survived by her four children Janet (Ron Flaig), Alan (Juree), Denise Radomske, Evie (Brian Hannah), sisters-in-law Evie Scott, Margaret Trentham and Betty Abramenko as well as 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Olla will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family would especially like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Westview Care Community, who made her comfortable in her final days.
