Merle I. Maerz went quietly and peacefully at home to God Sept 14th 2019 at the age of 72. Merle was a loving husband to Evelyn a wonderful father to Carl (Karen), Adam (Cheryl), Mary (Mike) and Doug (Tara) and a devoted Grandfather to Denise, Savannah (Xhemial), Nathan (Phoenix) and Alex. Merle spent his life working in all areas of the food industry from cooking, managing restaurants to teaching commercial cooking at Selkirk College in Nelson B.C. and retired as Department Head. Predeceased by his parents Agnes and Enoch, and brother Harvey and sister in law Louise. Merle will be missed by sister in law Carol, Grace (Allan), Gloria (Wayne), Lyle, Illa (Dwayne) and Ray (Betty). Merle was blessed to be Uncle to many nieces and nephews, great and now a fourth generation of great-great nieces and nephews. Merle's life was full of laughter and love of God.
