Matilda (Isaac) Wohlgemuth passed away peacefully at Valleyview Health Centre in Valleyview, AB, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Matilda was born at home in Swalwell, AB, on June 20, 1932, the second youngest child of Abraham and Edna Isaac.

On November 28, 1954, she married William Wohlgemuth. Their early years were spent in the Crooked Creek, AB, area, where they established their homestead and farming life. They later relocated to Ridgevalley, AB, where she continued to reside until her passing.

Matilda will be missed by her adult children, Violet (Howard) Penner, Marg Reimer (Rod Johnson), George (Carrie) Wohlgemuth, Dennis Wohlgemuth (Bren Knight), Myrna (Don) Giesbrecht, and Stella Price; son-in-law, David Kaut; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred (Grace) Wohlgemuth, Tena Toews, Lena Thiessen, Herb (Verna) Wohlgemuth, Linda Wohlgemuth, Lill Thiessen and Elaine (Darwin) Kirk; 17 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren (who together with their spouses and families mourn the loss of Grandma); numerous nieces and nephews; friends and acquaintances; and the residents and staff of the Ridgevalley Seniors Home.

Matilda was predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Edna; brothers and sisters, Oscar, Sol, Carl, Irene, Noah, Ella, Mary, Clara, Ena, and Laura; husband, William; firstborn, Vivian and daughter, Edith; and brothers and sisters-in-law, David, Maryana, Lawrence, Stella, Alen, and Wayne.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Rosedale Congregation, with a Graveside Service to follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Following the Interment Service, all are welcome to join the family for lunch in the Church Fellowship Hall.

If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Ridgevalley Seniors Home (RR 1 Site 1 Box 9, Crooked Creek, AB, T0H 0Y0).
