Sopher, A Leola (Clayton) born May 22, 1921 went home to be with her Heavenly Father Wednesday, May 24 from Westview Care in Linden AB, two days following her 96th Birthday.
Leola was the second of 4 daughters born to William H and Mildred A Clayton in Woodstock, Ontario. Predeceased by her late husband Douglas, she is survived by 5 children: Jo-Ann (Bruce) of Coldwater ON, Pat (Mattfeld) of Spokane WA, Donald Sopher of Prince Rupert BC, Stephen Sopher of Barrie ON and Edward Sopher of Phoenix AZ, twelve grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.
Born and raised in Woodstock, Ontario Leola was a graduate of London Bible Institute in London Ontario. She met and married her sweetheart Douglas Sopher while they served in Northern Canada Mission. Leola worked for a time as a press operator in the laundry at Cobourg District General Hospital. She loved to sew and make clothing for herself and her children. She was a cook and baker and loved to garden. Leola and Douglas travelled extensively in North America in their motor home, eventually settling in Three Hills AB.
