Obituary

Kathleen Isabelle Watson was born in Trochu, Alberta on May 31, 1932. She passed away on December 2, 2015. Kay grew up on the family farm in the Ghost Pine district. Her mom and dad were Kate Rose and William Watson. Kay was the youngest of four children: sister Leona (Glen) Smith, brother David (Mary Watson), and sister Evelyn Watson. Kay attended Greenleaf School, then later Prairie Grade School and partial high school. The family was active in Manor Gospel Church. Kay and sister Evelyn moved to Three Hills in 1963. Kay enjoyed gardening, yard work, reading, and playing the piano; also she spent countless hours playing board games and putting together puzzles. While living in town she enjoyed helping friends and neighbours with housework and yard work. She enjoyed all her nieces and nephews throughout their growing up years. Kay also loved horseback riding. Kay attended Victory Church along with her sister Evelyn. They enjoyed singing duets together. The "twins" as they were affectionately known as were actually 7 years apart. Growing up in a tight-knit family, they enjoyed so many of the same activities and became inseparable as sisters. Hence the term "twins" came into being. Kathleen is survived by niece Glenda Smith of Calgary, nephew Gordon (Bonnie) Smith of Calgary, great-nephew Graham (Kelvie) Smith and great-great-nephew Orson Smith of Vancouver, BC; sister-in-law Mary Watson of Three Hills and nieces and nephews Judith Watson of Three Hills, Keith Watson of Rumsey area, Darlene (Steve) McGurk, great-niece and great-nephews Raelynn, Allen, and David McGurk of Calgary, Gerald (Kathy) Watson of Calgary, and Trevor Watson of Three Hills, AB; and several relatives throughout Alberta, Ontario, and the United States. Memorial Services were held Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Victory Church of Three Hills, with interment in Three Hills Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to West View Care Community, Box 220, Linden, AB.
