Jan Harmsen, loving husband, dad, and grandpa, died on January 17, 2023, at the age of 65.

Jan was born to Harmen and Albertha Harmsen on April 16, 1957 in Hellendoorn, Holland.

A very hard worker, Jan started working at just 14 years of age in the cotton industry. He moved into forestry where he dedicated 30 years. After his move to Canada, he managed a hog farm. On August 27, 2007, Jan married Antonia van den Born. His family grew quickly as he gained two children and 3 grandchildren that day. Jan was stubborn and honest. He treasured his family greatly and was a constant support to his family and friends, no matter the time of day.

Jan is predeceased by his parents.

Jan is survived by: wife Antonia; Daughter Petra (Kees) van Ginkel; grandchildren Luke, Daisy and Nicole van Ginkel, and Ashton Jensen; son Edwin (Gerda) Roseboom; grandchildren Dirkjan and Marcus Roseboom; sister Aaltje; brother Albert, as well as nieces, nephew, other family and friends.
