IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irene "Renie" Elizabeth
Primrose

Irene "Renie" Elizabeth Primrose (Kiemele)
It is with our greatest sorrow to announce the passing of our very beloved Irene Elizabeth Primrose (Kiemele) on July 26, 2025, at the Three Hills Health Centre, at the age of 85 years. Irene was born to Sarah "Sadie" Kiemele and George Jacob Kiemele on January 19, 1940, in Bassano, AB.
Irene grew up on the farm in Milo, AB. Irene completed schooling in Milo, then went on to obtain her Registered Nurses Aid in Edmonton, AB, which Irene was so proud of.
Irene met and married her dearest Donald "Donnie" Primrose on June 24, 1961, and were married for 47 years, up until Donald's passing in 2009. Irene and Donnie lived in Edmonton for a short while, as Irene was working at the Royal Alexander as a Nurse's Aid.
In 1962 Irene and Donnie moved to Rumsey, where they welcomed their four children. They resided there until 1990 when they purchased Gordon and Shirley Watson's farm, where Irene lived up until her passing, where she was kept company by her feline friends.
In July 1962 Donnie and Irene formed Primrose Trucking, where their two sons Brad and Greg worked alongside them. Brad branched out on his own and purchased his own truck, where Greg continued, and continues to work until present.
Often times Irene could be found in her kitchen, softly humming along to their favourite country songs and baking her fondly remembered bread and sweets, as Donnie had quite the sweet tooth. Irene enjoyed sharing a cup of tea with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Irene was over the MOOOOOON about her cows. She loved to show her grandchildren/great grandchildren her cows, especially the calves. When she wasn't tending to her cows and chickens, you could find her in her chair, playing Solitaire or crocheting/knitting. Irene enjoyed sewing and never met a tear she couldn't repair. Over the years Irene planted a very large garden where family enjoyed the "veggies" of her labour.
Irene is survived by her four children: Brad Primrose, Greg Primrose, Shelley (David) Hodge, and Connie Primrose (Jason Doyle); her grandchildren: Brittany Siddon, Crystal Primrose; Darren Roselle, Glen Primrose; Ashley Hodge (Chad Brownlee), Tyler Hodge; Carla (Mike) Collins, Christina Hatt (John Nergard), Courtney Hatt; Jared (Badeth) Doyle, Jamie Doyle (Jordan Stankievech), Jordana Doyle (Alex Little), Jayden, Jenaya, and Jae Doyle; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Charlie (Gail) and Ernest (Laura); her sisters, Marie Sealock, Leona Stringer, and Florence Hunt; a special sister-in-law, Irene Kiemele; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene was predeceased by her parents, Sadie and George Kiemele; her husband, Donald Primrose; her brothers, Ted, Harry, George, Dave, Raymond, Jack, Fred, and Leonard; her sisters, Anne and Grace; brothers-in-law, Steve Varga, Randy Stringer, and Ken Sealock; and sisters-in-law, Edna Chapman and Lois Kiemele.
Thank you to Irene's family and neighbours, and a special thank you to Lance & Kendra Kiemele and sons for always lending a helping hand.
A big thanks to the Doctor, Nurse's and staff at the Three hills Health Centre for their kindness and care for Irene.
A private gathering will be held for immediate family. Irene will be laid to rest at the Rumsey Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Three Hills Health Foundation.
