Herbert Regehr was born to Abraham L & Helena Toews Regehr on January 2, 1933, at Swalwell, Alberta. He peacefully passed away with family by his side on November 13, 2020, at the Westview Care Community, Linden, AB, reaching the age of 87 years. Herb spent his growing years on the family farm as the youngest of 9 children and lived his entire life in the Linden community. He received his education at the Linden School. At the age of 12 he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized on November 25, 1945, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. On February 19, 1960, Herb married Florence Wiebe in Steinbach, MB. Two sons & twin daughters made their family complete. They shared lifes joys & sorrows until Moms passing on January 11, 2020, five weeks before their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Their love and commitment to each other was a wonderful example to us children. Dad provided well for his family making his livelihood by farming & trucking. In 1975 he sold the farm and continued to haul eggs until he sold the business in 1996. Dads caring and compassionate nature won him many friends. Honesty, strong work ethics and being on time were important to him – he was very disciplined and led by example. Dad taught us to respect everyone and making fun of others was unacceptable. Dad was always there for us while we were growing up and after we left home many a phone call was appreciated. He had a great sense of humor and we loved hearing his many stories from the past. Left to cherish precious memories are his children: Michael & Correen, Linden, AB; Tony & Bev, Abbotsford, BC; Angela Reimer, Westlock, AB; Carmen & Glen Jantz, Leoville, SK; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his brother Walt & Lydda Regehr, Linden, AB; sisters-in-law, Eva Regehr, Abbotsford, BC, Linda Regehr, Moundridge, KS, Josie Regehr, Linden, AB; Irene Wiebe, Neilburg, SK, Susan & Harvey Toews, Linden, AB, Barb & Harvey Thiessen, Pincher Creek, AB, Jean Wiebe, Red Deer, AB, and many nieces, nephews & friends. Dad was preceded in death by his wife, parents, parents-in-law, five brothers, two sisters, four brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and one infant grandson. As a family, we would like to express our deep appreciation to the staff at Westview Care Community for the loving care provided over the last four and one half years.
