Obituary

Henry was born to Peter Plett and Magdalena Sobering Wohlgemuth in Landmark, Manitoba. He spent his younger years in Landmark on the family farm, where he had many interesting experiences. One experience happened at the age of fourteen. He, with his brother Albert, sat out a severe electrical storm, each holding a horse by the reins. Albert and both horses lost their lives. When he was thirteen years of age, he gave his heart to the Lord, and always treasured this decision. Dad married our mother, Lena Goosen Toews, on October 29, 1950. They shared life's many joys and sorrows for fifty three years. They were blessed with two daughters, two sons, and two chosen sons. They spent time in a logging camp in northern Manitoba where he suffered a traumatic head injury while bucking firewood. He enjoyed carpentry and remained in this trade, moving to Three Hills, Acme and then to Crooked Creek, Alberta. After mom's passing, he moved to Stettler, Alberta. He found new happiness in his life and married Marion Isaac Bignold on December 04, 2011. They shared four wonderful years. Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife Marion, his family, Andre and Luke Friesen of Crooked Creek, Alberta, Earl Wohlgemuth of Three Hills, Alberta, Nelson and Lois Wohlgemuth of Stettler, Alberta, Karl and Amy Wohlgemuth of Spruce Grove, Alberta, and Mark and Rose Wohlgemuth of Red Deer, Alberta, son-in-law, Bob Carlton of Prince George, BC, and Vi Wohlgemuth of Linden, Alberta. Twenty grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. His brothers, Jake and Viola Wohlgemuth of Steinbach, Manitoba, Melvin and Helena Wohlgemuth of Swanson, Saskatchewan, his sister Linda Wohlgemuth of Greenland, Manitoba, sister-in-law Nellie Wohlgemuth of Landmark, Manitoba, and many extended family and friends. Marion's brothers and sisters and her Bignold family. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, three brothers, two sisters, his oldest daughter, Theresa Carlton on October 16, 2015, one grandson, two granddaughters, and two great granddaughters. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Rosedale Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Crooked Creek, Alberta with interment in Rosedale Cemetery.
