It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey Lyle Stankievech on December 11, 2024, after a two year battle with amyloidosis.

Harvey was born in 1958 to Walter and Ursula Stankievech in Three Hills, Alberta. In his younger years, he was a member of the Ghostpine 4H club and the Young Voyagers. In school, Harv was in the band and drama programs and had fun on school trips and student exchanges. Outside of school, Harv was an avid snowmobiler with his cousins and friends. In the summer, he rode dirt bikes and went to the mountains with groups for week long bike trips.

Harv studied Ag-Mech at Olds College, where he made many life-long friends. He was on the student council executive and joined the intramural sports teams. He made time for lots of socializing and was the life of the party.

Harv's passion was farming, and he excelled at it. He enjoyed attending any crop tour, no matter how big or small. Harv was innovative in his approach and dedicated to the crops he raised. He had a keen interest in machinery and the technological developments that happened over his lifetime. His legacy will live on in the fields he farmed.

In 1985, he married Edna Brinkman and became a family man. He was proud of his two children and supportive of their endeavours. Many vacations were taken as a family, often to the Caribbean in the wintertime.

Harv was genuinely interested in and supportive of the people around him. He would go for evening drives, prepared to offer encouragement and support to neighbours he would meet along the way. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour and vibrant personality.

Harv is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Ursula (née Jakob), and brother, Russell. He is survived by his loving wife, Edna, and his children and their partners Roxanne & Blake, and Dylan & Cassidy. He is also survived by the many family members and friends who cared for him.

A celebration of Harv's life is being planned for the spring of 2025.
