Gladys Muriel was born to Peter and Mary Thiessen on March 10, 1930 at Sunnyslope, Alberta and went home to be with Jesus on May 7, 2025 at Cochrane, Alberta.

Gladys was married for almost sixty years to Albert Mammel and they raised four children together. She was a godly, faithful, hardworking, and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The theme of Gladys' life was "God and Family." That's what she lived for.

Gladys is survived by her children, Cynthia (Leon) Hansen, Cheryl Mammel, Daniel (Judy) Mammel, Melanie (Scott) McCaffrey, ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Mammel, her parents Peter and Mary Thiessen, infant brother Ernest, sister Verna Bear, and brother Glen Thiessen.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Operation Smile Canada.
