George Edward Larson entered this world on November 22, 1942, the only beloved child of Elmer George Larson and Lucille Marie (Johns) Larson, in Camrose, Alberta. He passed away at Three Hills Hospital on April 25, 2016 at the age of 73 years.
George grew up in a number of small towns in southern Alberta as his dad was a grain buyer for the United Grain Growers. His mother always worked or ran the local coffee shop. Growing up there were some difficult times as his dad's health was not stable and he spent time in the hospital. After graduating from high school George worked a number of jobs and then decided to move to Calgary to apprentice as an electrician, becoming a master electrician and running his own company - Larson Electric.
George married Susan Elizabeth Whalen on August 16, 1969 at the Acme United Church, and they began their married life in Calgary. Karen Rose was born in 1970 and after moving back to Acme from Fort McMurray a son, Michael Robert, was added to the family in 1975. George spent the rest of his life living and working in the communities of Acme and Linden. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man with a great love for animals, hockey and movies.
George was pre-deceased by his father Elmer (1973), his mother Lucille (2006), and step-father Vernon Bitz (1984). He will be lovingly remembered by his two children Karen Sisson of Leduc and Michael and Roseanne Larson of Airdire. Also to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren, Gavin and Danielle Sisson and Mason, Ethan and Evan Larson. He will also be remembered by his children's mother, Susan (Whalen) Litz.
