Obituary

George Irving, the son of Harold Delos Francisco and Edna (nee Edgerton), was raised in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, along with siblings Helen, Bill, June and Ben.

In his early twenties, George heard the call of God on his life and moved to Calgary, Alberta, to enroll in Berean Bible College, where he met his wife, Jessie Drieidiger, and began his preaching career.

He served a number of churches in western Canada, including Red Deer Baptist Church, Fundamental Baptist (Edmonton, AB), Mayland Heights Baptist (Calgary, AB), Berean Bible College (Calgary), Brandon Alliance (Manitoba), and Global Outreach Canada. George can still be heard across Canada on "Canada’s National Back to the Bible Hour" on Sunday mornings.

Dad loved camping, hiking in the mountains, and fishing especially along the Bow River and the Kananaskis lakes.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; his sons, Jim, Kevin, Rodney and Russell; by his sister, June, and brother, Ben; as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is being planned to celebrate his life and ministry (details to follow).

If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with George's family here.
