Gary Richard Adam passed away peacefully June 13 2020 at the age of 74 after losing his battle with cancer. Gary was born in Trochu, Alberta on February 24, 1946 in Trochu and was the eldest son of Richard and Margaret Adam. Gary attended school in Trochu until his graduation and then attended University of Alberta and SAIT before moving home to farm and raise cattle with his dad. Gary spent many years building his cattle herd and enjoyed riding horses whenever he could. Gary served on the Trochu Fire Department for over 40 years, was a UFA Delegate for over 20 years, Trochu Minor Hockey as well as numerous other committees and boards. Gary was known for his loud laugh, sense of humour and friendly smile and was always willing to help a neighbour. Gary is survived by his loving wife with of 49 years Eldena, and their two children Laura-Lee (Cliff) and children Cole (Ashley) and Reese; Alan (Carolyn) and children Noah and Levi as well as a special nephew Trevor who was like a second son. Brothers Darrel (Shirley) & family and Dean & family as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary may be made to the Trochu Fire Department or the Canadian Cancer Society. A private family service will be held at a later time.
