We remember Floyd Sillito, originally of Orton, AB, who passed peacefully at Three Hills Health Centre on January 9, 2023. He is survived by: sons Morgan and James Rion, both of Calgary, and Mark (Carol Ramey) of Cardston, AB; grandchildren Ruth (Nick King) of Invermere, BC, Dolly (Patrick Sperry), Wyn, Hannah (McCrae Iles), Beth and Rory, all of Calgary; and great grandchildren Emily and Nevica. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife and mother of their boys, Eileen (Ridley), and his late-in-life loving wife, Connie. He is also lovingly remembered by the large extended Sillito family.
A friend and gentleman to all, Cowboy Floyd was well known for his love of entertaining. He was a member of the CFCN Old Timers in the 1950s. After taking up residence at Garden View Lodge in Lethbridge, Alta., in 2001, Floyd entertained at seniors' centres, lodges, libraries, museums and more throughout Central and Southern Alberta. A more recent highlight for him was being interviewed as part of the National Music Centre's ATB Oral History Project in 2016:
