Obituary

Flora Adeline Elizabeth (Richards) McNeil It is with great sorrow and pain that we announce that our precious Flora, a living and free spirited daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, nana, and daughter-in-law, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of June 24, 2015 at Peter Lougheed Centre ICU in Calgary, Alberta surrounded by members of her family. Flora was 55 years of age. Flora was born May 9, 1960, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She was the first child of Edith Flora (Parent) Richards and the late Edward Leroy Richards of Oromocto, NB and sister to Stephen Edward Richards of Fredericton, NB and the late Kimberly Lorraine (Richards) Hiscock. Flora is survived by her husband Daniel Peter McNeil, Linden, AB and children Viginia Loraine (Richards) Arsenault, Ormocoto, NB; Tristan Daniel McNeil, Linden, AB; Caitlin Johanna McNeil, Linden, AB and grandchildren Jasmine, Liberty, Micheala and Lochlain and parents-in-law Connie M.C. (Kennis) McNeil and Kerin McGowen. Even at the age of 55 Flora had lived a lifetime, and was ready to live a lifetime more. Flora was born and raised in New Brunswick to a military family and she was married to her onetime military husband for 28 years. She endured separation for duty throughout his career. Giving birth to her children and working various careers was proof of her resolve and determination to sustain the wife and mother (our rock) that we loved and cherished so deeply. The places she lived changed as did careers until finally setting up a business with her husband in Ontario. Some years later the business ventured to Alberta and which became the province she loved and wished to retire in. Amidst her daily routines she still found time for what became numerous passions of cooking and baking to which anyone who knew her could attest to, and her collection of fineries, gratefully if not reluctantly supplied by her husband. Her understanding but not comprehending pet dogs, her cat gizmo the family mouser and her recent reintroduction to horses, and with more time would have succeeded into that second lifetime of dreams. Dreams that only she could have imagined . . . . . You are dearly missed. We wish to give special thanks to Dr. J Gaudet and the staff of Peter Lougheed Centre ICU for their tireless unyielding care. Thanks to Sunset Funeral Service for their compassion and direction to help Flora on her journey. Lastly but not finally to Rev. Linda Hunter, United Church of Canada for opening the path and guiding Flora on her everlasting Spiritual Journey Memorial donations in Flora's name may be sent to Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family at condolences@sunsetltd.ca Funeral services were held Monday, June 29, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Chapel with interment in Linden Cemetery. Exierant numquam dediscor Gone but not forgotten
