IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ellen Lois
Wall
July 9, 1938 – June 28, 2025
Ellen (Lois) Wall passed away, surrounded by her children at the Three Hills Health Centre, Three Hills, Alberta, on June 28, 2025.
Lois was born on July 9, 1938, at the Grace Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario, the oldest of seven children. After leaving home in May 1955, she worked at Bell Canada for six years. During this time, she met and married Fred while he was serving in the military at Rockcliffe, Ontario. They were transferred overseas in October 1964, returning to Ottawa in 1967, and later moving to Cold Lake, Alberta, in 1974.
While living in Cold Lake, Fred rededicated his life to the Lord, and Lois, along with the children, accepted Jesus as their Saviour. Sensing God's call to serve at Prairie Bible College, Fred left the military, and the family moved to Three Hills in September 1978. The children completed their schooling at Prairie High School, and David went on to attend Bible School for four years.
Lois was known for her gifts of helps and hospitality. She served for sixteen years at Prairie as a switchboard operator and in the thrift shop. A member of Prairie Tabernacle Congregation for twenty-seven years, Lois later attended Manor Gospel Church, where she coordinated the prayer chain and meals ministry. Her home became a welcoming place for mid-week prayer meetings, and she faithfully attended the Manor Ladies' Bible Study. Lois also volunteered with Seniors Outreach, caring deeply for her community.
She loved her cottage-like home, taking pride in keeping the yard well-groomed as an act of honour to God. One of her greatest blessings was visiting David and his family in Papua New Guinea on two occasions with Fred. She treasured her time visiting her great-grandchildren in Minnesota and made several trips to B.C. to visit Donna and Troy.
Lois often said she would have no greater joy than to know her children and grandchildren were walking in truth.
She is survived by her three children: Debra Ruby (Bruce) of Three Hills, Alberta; Donna (Troy) Ruttle of Clive, Alberta; and David (Cindy) Wall of Bemidji, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and siblings Bill (Emer) Rombough of Russell, Ontario; Wayne (Loraine) Rombough of Kapuskasing, Ontario; Joan Carss of Rockwood, Ontario; Judy (Dan) Storring of Arnprior, Ontario; Barry (Judy) Rombough; and Kim (Larry) Kane of Carlsbad, Ontario.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, Fred (October 2006), and her parents, Shirley (1978) and Hazel (2006) Rombough.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
