Ella Joyce Thiessen Wohlgemuth Reimer was born to Pete and Dora Thiessen on February 24, 1938, in their home in Rosenort, MB. Peacefully in her sleep she left us in the evening hours of Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Westview Care Community, Linden, AB. She reached the age of eighty-five years.

Her family moved to Crooked Creek, AB when she was a young child. She was a bubbly friendly girl. She and her brothers and sisters walked a half mile to school in Ridge Valley. As a young teenager she responded to the call of God and gave her heart to Him. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on June 17, 1951 by Gerry DeVeer. She loved the Church and remained faithful to her vows her whole life. Her younger sisters remember Ella and her sister Rosie, along with two friends, often singing quartets together. She worked at Ed Froese's store in her teenage years.

Ella married Alen Wohlgemuth on November 30, 1958 at Crooked Creek, AB. Together they shared the joys and sorrows of life for nearly 53 years until he passed away in September, 2011. Their home was blessed with a daughter and a son. They encountered times of grief, especially when their daughter, Anita, tragically passed away at age 19. Through the years they opened their home to various young people who all became special to them. Ella was a wise lady, lending a listening ear and giving good advice when asked. Many people fondly called her 'Aunt Ella'. She helped Alen on the farm, driving machinery and checking crops with him. They went on walks and long drives together. They enjoyed going on trips. Their lives were enriched by time spent in the mission in Nigeria and in a young men's CPS unit in West Virginia.

Ella found love and companionship again when she married Denver Reimer on October 30, 2012, and moved to Linden, AB. Her love and devotion to dad was stronger than her loneliness for the north.

She often commented, "we were hoping for two good years together" and God blessed them with ten. They lived the last seven years at Westview Care Community. First in the Suites, and two years ago they moved into long term care, where they shared a room together until her passing. We as a family are so thankful for the wonderful care given to them there.

Left to cherish precious memories are her dear husband, Denver; one son, Walter of Vancouver, BC; four grandchildren, Kyle, Tyson, Alen, and Sasha, and their families; one brother, Wilbert & Rebecca; two sisters, Olive & Wayne Klassen, Marian & Keith Isaac, all of Crooked Creek, AB; and two sisters-in-law, Viola Thiessen and Lillian Thiessen. Denver's family: Dorothy & Warren Brown, Beverly & Andy Mandel, Maynard & Louise, Dean, Chester & Terri, Shauna, Yvonne; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Ken & Norma, and his sister Joyce & Melvin Klassen; the Wohlgemuth family; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding her in death is her daughter, her first husband, parents, three brothers and one sister.
