IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elias S
Stahl
May 10, 1931 – December 21, 2024
Elias S Stahl, beloved father, grandpa, and great-grandpa,
passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 93.
At the tender age of 4 months, Elias moved from Wolf Creek, SD, to Wolf Creek Colony, Stirling, AB.
Five years later, he moved again to Lakeside Colony, Cranford, AB.
In 1952, he married the love of his life, Susie Stahl,
and together they raised a beautiful family of 7 sons and 4 daughters:
Eli (Esther), Jacob (Barbara), Ben (Susanna), Joe (Martha), Jerry (Katie), Arnold (Kathryn)
all of Starland Colony;
Martin (Susie) of East River Colony
Susie (Paul) Ponteix, Sarah, and Esther of Starland Colony
Mary (Ben) of Ear View Colony
whom they taught to serve the Lord in many ways.
Grandpa was blessed with 43 grandchildren and 94 great-grandchildren.
Grandpa Elias is survived by his two brothers, Joe (R) and Peter (Ann) of Blue Sky, and his two sisters, Susie (George) Leask and Elizabeth (Rev. Peter) of Manville.
Grandpa's love for woodworking was evident in his 24-year career as a carpenter. In 1972, he moved to Starland Colony, where he resided until his passing. Dad's love for the Lord was unending. Together with Mom, he served as a German school teacher and lovingly tended the garden for many years. His deep passion for writing and singing is a legacy that lives on in the hearts of many, especially his grandchildren, who continue to honor it daily. Grandpa loved the great outdoors and had a special love for cattle. In the two years before his passing, as his health began to decline,
he was lovingly cared for by his daughters Sarah and Esther.
We love and miss you, Dad. Rest in peace.
He especially loved and looked forward to Saturday evenings when his children and grandchildren would visit. He cherished his great-grandchildren to the fullest.
Grandpa, you will be missed by many. You have left behind a deep legacy, and we hope to one day follow in your footsteps and lead by your example.
Rest easy, Grandpa.
Dad was predeceased by his loving wife, Susie; his parents and in-laws; his brothers and sisters; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
Elias was laid to rest on December 24th, 2024 at the Starland Hutterian Brethren Cemetery.
