Eileen was born on the family homestead 15 miles northwest of Acme, AB, on July 15, 1929. She spent her entire childhood there, living life in the prairies, attending school locally, contributing to their homestead's daily needs, being an academic student, growing a love for baseball, studying music and later graduating high school in 1947. Following high school, Eileen pursued further studies towards education at the University of Calgary for one year at the age of eighteen. During the summers of 1948, 1949, and 1950, she continued her education through summer school at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, AB.

At the young age of nineteen years old, Eileen began her teaching career, instructing 44 students from Grades one through five at the Linden Country School. After teaching, she devoted her life to raising her family and supporting their business, Bruce Hannah Truck Lines , alongside her husband.

Eileen lived with warmth, energy, and a true zest for life. She found joy in music, playing piano, organ, and singing whenever she could. She also loved sewing and took great pride in caring for and nurturing her family and extending constant commitments among the local community.

Her gentle spirit, creativity, and unwavering love will be forever remembered by all who knew her.

May she rest in peace.
