IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edna Roselle
Reimer
February 1, 1935 – May 18, 2025
Edna Roselle Reimer passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by her family.
Edna was born in Saskatoon to Abe and Susanna Janzen on February 1, 1935. She grew up on a dairy farm with her seven siblings. She attended a one-room schoolhouse for grades one through eight and then completed her schooling by correspondence. At the age of sixteen, Mom came to know Jesus as her Savior, and two years later, she was baptized.
She attended Bible school for a semester and then began working in a nursing home in Saskatoon. From there, she worked at Modern Laundry before moving to Vancouver to work in a jewelry store for a year. She eventually returned to Saskatchewan to be closer to her family.
Mom married Jacob Reimer on January 27, 1961, and moved to Medstead to Dad's family farm. They lived there for nine years and were blessed with three beautiful boys: Wendell, Marcel, and Deron. The family then moved to Peace River and later to Vermilion in 1971, where they resided for nearly 40 years. In 1976, God blessed Mom and Dad with a daughter, Cindy.
Mom worked very hard and is remembered for her unselfish service to her family and always putting others' needs ahead of her own. She managed her own day home for twenty-five years. She was an enthusiastic gardener and cook and will always be remembered for her special soups.
In retirement, she and Dad travelled as much as they could through Western Canada and spent many winters in Arizona. They even flew to Hawaii on a couple of occasions. Eventually, they moved to Carstairs to be closer to some of their children and grandchildren, where they lived for several years. In 2024, they moved into a Lodge in Crossfield.
Mom lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of her days that God blessed her with. She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and cared for everyone who knew her. At the end of April 2025 mom became quite ill and was hospitalized. After 20 days in Hospital, God called our mom home. She was ready to meet her Savior! Her family looks forward to the day when they will meet her in glory.
She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Jacob; her children: Wendell (Suzette), Marcel (Gwen), Deron (Sonya), and Cindy (Gord); her 15 grandchildren: Nicole, Aleisha, Amanda; Bradley, Michele, Jason; Michael, Tymara, Koltyn, Noah; Josh, Aaron, Emily, Matthew, and Brianna; 17 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Norma, Hilda, and Walter (Marlene); as well as many nieces and nephews.
