Donald Philip Whalen was born in High River, Alberta September 12, 1954 to Donald and Phylis (Durrant) Whalen and passed away November 17, 2023 in Calgary. The family lived in numerous small towns in central Alberta and arrived in Acme in March of 1964. Don attended Acme School and made many lifelong friends. On December 28, 1973 Don and Carol Ann Ramey were married in the Acme United Church and from this union 3 beautiful children were born - Donald James - 1975, Jennifer Jean - 1975 and Amanda Denise - 1978. Don worked at many occupations, construction crew for Alberta Wheat Pool, Del and Dale Poultry Farm in Linden, Storch Poultry Operation of Carstairs, and as a crane truck operator in Calgary. Don enjoyed outdoor activities the most: hiking and mountain biking but Don's favorite thing to do was travel and camp in his van.

Don was preceded by his father Don (2016), mother Phylis (2009) and infant son Donald (1975). He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Rob) Brerton and Amanda (Trent) Bradley as well as 6 grandchildren: Alexandria, Harrison, Dorothy-Anne and Liam Brereton and Keegan and Gabriel Rumak. Don is also survived by 4 siblings: Sister Susan (Leonard) Litz and brothers James (Shelly), Richard and David as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
