David Leslie Reimer was born July 25th, 1969 at Camrose, AB, to Fred and Doreen Barkman Reimer. God called him home unexpectedly in the early morning hours of January 12, 2017. His first years were spent on the family farm at Edberg, AB, with his Dad and Mom, brother, and four sisters. He was welcomed into the family. He enjoyed listening to stories, playing and working together. When he was 11, the family moved to Carrot River, SK, starting a new congregation with several other families. This was an exciting adventure for David. He enjoyed his school days and his friends. He gave his heart to God when he was 13 and was baptized, becoming a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite. David was an enthusiastic Christian, putting his heart into singing, teaching Bible School on the Indian Reserve and giving time at the boys unit in Montreal. On September 22, 1991, he married his childhood sweetheart, Lenore Megli. David was a loving and caring husband. We shared 25 happy years and dreamed of growing old together. Our married life began at Carrot River where he continued working on the farm with his dad and brother. Here Trista and Brooklyn were born. Wanting to be of service, God led us to Vanderhoof, BC, where David taught in the mission school. Here Jared and Staci joined our family. We decided to make BC our home and found a beautiful spot with a panoramic view of Sinkut Mountain, trees and meadows. Here we lived our dream. We loved working together as a family, building up our ranch while spending many happy hours out doors caring for our cows, horses, and dogs. Our dear Dad was a patient teacher, giving us his confidence "You can do it!". Dad didn't sweat the small stuff. He instilled in us a love for God and the beauty of nature. He loved flowers. We loved to spend evenings listening to him read aloud. He was the best Dad and a great example. He took time to enjoy life with his family and friends, taking trips, camping, singing around the fire, and reciting poetry. Dad lived life to the fullest. We will miss his reassuring presence. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his precious wife, Lenore, and children Trista, Brooklyn, Jared and Staci; his parents, Fred and Doreen Reimer, Camrose, AB, his brothers and sisters, Bonnie and Tony Isaac, Sinclair, MB; Candace and Ken Thiessen, Cromer, MB; Vickie and Gerald Thiessen, Edberg, AB; Danny and Lenore Reimer, Porcupine Plain, SK; Lorna and Glenn Johnson, Lakin, KS. Lenore's family: parents Irvin and Irma Megli, Carrot River, SK; brothers and sisters, Vietta and Greg Isaac, Birnie, MB; Vonna and Dale Bartel, Roblin, MB; Wayne and Rilla Megli, Donica Megli, Bevin and Trudi Megli, all of Carrot River, SK; Ardene and Kim Isaac, Vanderhoof, BC and many nieces, nephews and friends.
