IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lockie
Clubine
November 28, 1951 – December 20, 2024
David Lockie Clubine, known as Dave to his friends and family, passed away on December 20, 2024, after a spirited 73 years of life. Born on November 28, 1951, in the quaint town of Milton, Ontario, Dave was a man who could fill a room and had a large heart. He took his last breath in Calgary, Alberta in the comfort of the Rocky View Hospital surrounded by his sons and close friends, following a sudden cardiac arrest after a much-needed high risk colon and bladder surgery.
Dave was a man who lived life with the volume turned up. Whether it was cheering on his sons from the sidelines or laughing at his own jokes. His wife, Faye Bernadette Clubine, who preceded him in laughter and in leaving this world, was often his partner in crime, sharing in both the punchlines and the tender moments.
A fantastic father, Dave is survived by his two greatest joys, Chuck and Joe Clubine. He was a great family man, often found putting together softball games for his family and extended family, mini-Olympics for the neighborhood kids, or playing card games and board games with his family. His sons remember him as the kind of coach who didn't just teach them how to swing a bat but how to tackle life with gusto and a grin even when life was not going in the best direction.
Dave's interests were as eclectic as the characters on his favorite reality TV competition shows. He enjoyed a wide range of Television including his Korean soap operas and reality TV. In his twilight years as a result of COPD, when he wasn't immersed in the wild west through his Western novels, he was the king of his recliner, remote in hand, ready to explore the vast expanse of television offerings.
Known for his passionate spirit, Dave approached every aspect of life with a zest that was contagious. His kindness was appreciated by many, and his humor was perfectly timed. Friends and family often said that Dave could find the funny in any situation, a trait that made him a true Character. Noted by many of the Nursing staff that attended to him in his final days.
As we bid farewell to a man who was the embodiment of uniqueness, kindness, and humor, let us remember Dave Clubine as the person who could turn any moment into a memorable one. His legacy is not just in the laughter he leaves behind but in the way he taught us all to embrace life with a smile and a joke.
Dave, you may have taken your final curtain call, but the show you put on will play in our memories forever. Here's to the man who taught us that life, much like a good reality show, is best enjoyed with enthusiasm, love, and a whole lot of laughter.
You will be missed.
No services will be held at this time. At a later date, Dave's cremated remains will be laid to rest at the Beiseker Cemetery.
