Darlene Mae Hanson, 88 passed away of cancer on September 13, 2025 at the Brooks Health Centre in Brooks, Alberta. Born on July 15, 1937 in Eston, Saskatchewan, Darlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her 5 children, Murray (Ingrid), Loris of Brooks, Brad of Eastend, Mitzi of Brooks and Wendy (Jack) of Linden, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and expecting another great great grandchild in January 2026.

Mom faced a number of challenges, from losing her mother at a young age and being a widow at the age of 28 with 4 children to raise. Luckily, Gordie came into her life and took all of us on as a family. Gordie's job working on the rigs took us to many locations and the adventures that they had! They both loved music, dancing and a cold beer or two. Mom faced life with beauty and grace. She loved to cook, bake, crochet, knit, read, and her pets.

Mom was predeceased by her first husband Robert (1965) and second husband Gordie (2019), parents Hans and Clara, her brothers Cliff, Vernon, Deany and sister Annie and other relatives.

Mom dearly missed her Mother, both of her husbands and her siblings. Wishing them all a joyful reunion. You're finally at peace Mom.
