Obituary

Christina Marie Neufeld, aka Christy, was born 7 weeks premature on July 31, 2009 in Garden City, Kansas. Due to complications at birth she stayed at the hospital until September 9 before being released. In 2012, the family moved to Picture Butte, Alberta, Canada, where they lived for two years. Christys first school year was in 2013 at a school in Iron Springs. For the following school year she started attending Tween Valley Christian School and was currently still there in 6th grade. She enjoyed school although not everything came easy for her. Christy was a very passionate girl. Having a clean room was a must and it wasnt too much work to rearrange it differently every week. She loved being creative with painting, drawing, writing stories and colouring. Each needed to be done perfectly. Christy delighted in baking things. When she was unsure of the recipe she wouldnt stop to confirm but decided for herself what might be best. Which resulted in really salty flap jacks. Christy was also drawn to gardening. Christy loved cereal, enchiladas, Taco-In-The-Bag from Ranchero Viejo and she often asked for na-villa milk. Eating in at restaurants was a challenge for her because even if she ordered her own food she somehow managed to get the wrong meal all the time. Christys friends were very important to her. She loved sleepovers or over-sleeps as she called them. In the near future she had had planned on a pizza sleepover with her friends. Christy enjoyed her nieces and nephews but also needed her alone time. Christy also really enjoyed playing card games such as UNO, and Cover your assets with the family. Christy had no fear of trying new challenges. Jumping into the deep end of a pool without a life jacket and not even knowing how to swim, or climbing heights-such as trees and roofs, and taking roller coaster rides that no other family member dared on. Christy always had a longing to go to heaven and wondered what heaven would look like but was often scared to die because it would hurt. Her mom often encouraged her with instruction, verses to explain the plan of salvation, and prayed together often. We know that Jesus took her home unto Himself. Christy was predeceased by Peter and Maria Neufeld, siblings of Christy. Christy is survived by her parents, Jacob and Maria Neufeld; three sisters and one brother, Anna (wife of Anthony Giesbrecht), Tina (wife of John Klassen), Maggie (wife of Bernie Schmitt) and Jacob (Jay); ten nieces and nephews, Patrick, Christopher, Oliver, Gilbert, Juliann, Alaina, Titus, Jeffrey, Jayden, and Hannah. Dont dance so fast Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-around? Or listened to the rain slapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterflys erratic flight? Or gazed at the sun into the fading night? You better slow down. Dont dance so fast. Time is short. The music wont last. Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask How are you? Do you hear the reply? When the day is done, do you lie in your bed With the next hundred chores running through your head? Youd better slow down. Dont dance so fast. Time is short. The music wont last. Ever told your child, well do it tomorrow? And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch, let a good friendship die Cause you never had time to call and say Hi? Youd better slow down. Dont dance so fast. Time is short. The music wont last. When you run so fast to get somewhere You miss half the fun of getting there. When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift… thrown away. Life is not a race. Do take it slower, Hear the music, before the songs over.
