Obituary

Charmaine Nanette Block was born Charmaine May on August 3rd 1975 to parents Wayne and Judy May and older sister Misty. She passed away on January 11th, 2024, at the Three Hills Health Care Centre at the age of 48. Prior to passing she spent a little over two months in the hospital and there was never a day where she wasn't surrounded by her family and friends, a testament of how much she was loved by everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Char grew up in Trochu and lived there for most of her life, as a child and teenager her favourite pastimes were hanging out with her friends and spending time at the lake with her family.

In 1995 she gave birth to her daughter Chantal and then her sons Dustin and Dylan in 1998 and 2001. She spent a lot of her adulthood as a single mother but delighted in her children and loved being a mom.

Char first accepted Christ into her heart at age 27 and while she had always believed in Jesus, she admittedly said she didn't fully understand what it meant to be truly saved. While on vacation in Kelowna at age 32 Char met a man by the pool who struck up conversation with her and shared his testimony, this is when Char says she was truly Saved. The difference in her was night and day and no one who knew her could deny the drastic change in her, she glowed with the love of Jesus from the inside out.

In 2012 when she was 38, she married Chester Block and they, along with their children, moved out to Big Valley for a year before returning to the local area and settling on an acreage near Linden.

Char's favourite things included being with her loved ones, reading and studying the word of God, reading books, journaling, being a homemaker, trips to the mountains, visiting thrift stores, and photographing the beauty of Gods creation.

A week prior to her passing Char shared that she was ready to go to Heaven and we rejoice in the fact that she is now pain-free and safe in the arms of The Lord whom she loved and served so faithfully.

She is survived by: her parents Wayne and Judy May; husband Chester Block; children Chantal Tateson, Dustin Jackson, and Dylan Jackson; son-in-law Kody Tateson; grandbabies Hallie and Noah Tateson; her stepchildren along with their spouses and children; and of course the vast number of friends who also loved her dearly.

Those preceding her in death are her sister Misty May and brother Dana May.
