Obituary

Benjamin Ian Yeo, passed away late February 2025, in Red Deer, Alberta. Born on December 13, 1979, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Ben grew up constantly taking things apart just to see if he could put them back together again!

Ben is survived by his devoted mother, Shirley Yeo. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his sister, Ruth-Anne Platt; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jonathan and Danelle Yeo, David and Annie Yeo, and Peter and Theresa Yeo. His memory will be honoured by his beloved nephews Nathaniel, Asher, and Simon Yeo and his adored nieces Anna Platt, Meghan Yeo, Ava Young, Ella Yeo, Bethany Yeo, and Elizabeth Yeo. Ben was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Yeo, and his sister, Naomi Yeo, who both held special places in his heart.

In Ben's childhood he made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized to publicly declare this faith. Growing up he regularly attended church and AWANA.

A graduate of Prairie Christian Academy in 1997, Ben's pursuit of knowledge led him to study Criminal Justice at Lethbridge College. His academic achievements laid the foundation for his dedicated career at the Red Deer Remand Centre, where he continued to work until the end of his life.

Ben was an enthusiastic sportsman, relishing the camaraderie and competition found in rugby, football, snowboarding and other winter sports. His intellectual curiosity drew him to the world of technology, where he enjoyed working with computers and building them to his liking.

Perhaps Ben's most profound passion was the love he had for his nieces and nephews. Each moment spent with them was cherished, their laughter and joy his greatest treasure.

As we bid farewell to Benjamin Ian Yeo, we celebrate the extraordinary man he was and the enduring impact of his too-short life. His memory will be treasured forever, a reminder of the profound impact one individual can make in the world simply by being themselves. Ben's story does not end here, for he lives on in the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the laughter he shared—a legacy that will never be forgotten.

A private family Interment will be held.
