Beatrice Mary Wood, 73, of Pine Lake, AB, passed away on October 23, 2023 in Red Deer, AB.

Mary was born in Three Hills to Samuel and Beatrice Smith on December 30, 1949. She went to Three Hills, Big Valley, and Stettler schools and eventually graduated in 1968. She worked most of her life as an Accountant. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, trips, reading, and visiting with everyone. She was a kind soul with a big heart and was always willing to listen. She also enjoyed long trips with her husband Richard in his semi-truck to the United States and across Canada. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and looked forward to spending time with them.

She is predeceased by younger brother Eugene Smith (2020), father Samuel Smith (1992), mother Beatrice Smith (1968) and brother-in-law James "Jim" Wood (2020).

Mary is survived by her husband Richard of Pine Lake; children Mary (Mike) Edmundson, Bonnie (Chris) Schwaga and Susan Andrew; her grandchildren Jesse Richardson, Samantha (Wayne) Miller, Ethan Schwaga, Ashley Schwaga, Alyssa Schwaga and Kadence Andrew; and great-grandchildren Alexis Miller and Lila Laurent.

The Family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Emergency Department at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
