IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert & Lavina
Enns
January 14, 1925 – October 30, 2022
Remembering Dad & Mom
Lavina Enns went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 5, 2022, just 5 days short of her 96th birthday. Her husband, Albert Enns, joined her in the arms of Jesus on October 30, 2022 at the age of 97.
They were predeceased by their parents, 3 grandchildren, 2 sons-in-law, Dad's 3 sisters and Mom's 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
Dad was born to Henry and Mary Enns on January 14, 1925 in Morris, MB. Mom was born to John and Mary Schartner in their home near Swalwell, AB on June 10, 1926.
Dad served his country during the war as a cook in a camp in Dryden, ON. He eventually moved to Alberta and worked on different farms. It was on one of these farms where he met the love of his life, our dear Mom. As a youth of 15 years Mom gave her heart to the Lord. In addition to household chores, she helped with much of the farm operations. She was artistic and very creative and passed this on to her family. Her life was enhanced when she met her handsome, blue-eyed man. They made plans for a double wedding with her sister, Elda and her intended, Harvey Toews. They were united in the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, at Linden, on July 21, 1946.
Mom and Dad celebrated 75 years of marriage.
Dad took his apprenticeship for journeyman electrician at SAIT in Calgary while employed at Hydel Electric in Three Hills, AB. Later he became a parts manager at Linden Machine Works. Mom was the first egg grader in Linden, teaching many girls, including her daughters. Mom loved painting houses and was a good teacher for her children in that too, as well as janitorial work. In 1965 Dad purchased the Atlas Service Station in Linden. Their lives were changed immensely after Dad's automobile accident in 1972. They purchased the Poplar Grove Motel in Salmon Arm where they readily adjusted to a new kind of employment, church and community. Eventually they retired and moved back to Linden. In 2004 they moved into the Linden Lodge and enjoyed 17 years there. The "Golden Years" they called it.
Left to cherish their memories are 9 children: Shirley Linderman, Sharon Dunbar, Bonnie Enns, Viola Wohlgemuth, Brenda Toews, Gilbert (Amy) Enns, Ken (Angie) Enns, Ronnie Enns and Michael Enns. 15 grandchildren and spouses, 32 great-grandchildren and spouses, and 4 great-great grandchildren, Dad's brother, Dennis Roy (Marg) Enns, Mom's sister, Josie Regehr, 2 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The last few years of their lives were spent at Westview Care Community at Linden, AB.
Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the exceptional care they received from the nurses and staff.
