Obituary

Agnes Elsie Greig, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Trochu, Alberta. Born on July 31, 1929, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Agnes lived a faith-filled life marked by devotion to her family and community.

Agnes's early years in Saskatchewan were the foundation of a life characterized by resilience and hard work. Her journey led her to Trochu, Alberta, where she became a cherished member of the church community.

Gardening was one of Agnes's passions, a testament to her nurturing character. She found joy in the simple act of tending to her plants, watching them grow and flourish under her care. This same nurturing spirit was evident in how she cared for her family and friends.

An accomplished seamstress, Agnes's hands were rarely still. She channeled her creativity into sewing, creating beautiful garments and keepsakes that served as tangible expressions of her love.

Agnes was also an active member of church groups, where she found strength and fellowship.

Left to honor Agnes's memory are her children, Darlene (Mel) Schultz, Jean (Paul) Frere, Cliff Greig, and Cathy (Kevin) Gordon. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the lessons of kindness and compassion she instilled in them. Agnes also leaves behind her sisters, Isabel (Doug) Reich and Shirley Barlow; brother-in-law, Keith Ziegler; sisters-in-law, Shirley Courtney and Marie Greig; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Agnes was reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Vern, and their son, Archie. She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Isabel Courtney; her brothers, Bill, Jim, and Rod; her sister, Gert; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. The memories created with Agnes will be a comforting treasure for all those who knew her.

Agnes will be dearly missed by family and friends.
